'Space and Depth' Keys

In these days of computer controlled key cutting 'space and depth' keys have largely fallen out of use, but some older mechanical key cutting machines still need this kind of template key.

Space and depth keys are a set of specially cut keys that are used as templates to cut a key to a specific bitting. Each key has one depth of cut at each pin position that defines the depth of cut for each pin size and controls the spacing of the cut along the key blade to align with the spacing of the pins in the cylinder.

Computer controlled key cutting machines are regularly updated with manufacturers' lock details and Kasp details are available for upload to all the most popular brands of modern key cutting machines.
