Master Keyed Suites

A Master keyed suite is useful where several individuals each need to be able to open their own padlock, but no one else's, and a foreman or manager needs access to all areas.

 

A master keyed suite of padlocks is therefore a group of padlocks where each one opens with its own key, that key, called a change key, is unique to it and unable to open any of the other locks in the group, but a Master key is also made that opens all the locks.

 

The process for creating this kind of suite involves making a lock with two shear lines by introducing master wafers into the pin assembly (see diagram).
